Employee Resource Group Branding

Internal branding:

sub brands · concept · graphic design · merch · project management · communications templates

Where it started:
My Director asked, if I could use brand design to integrate our Employee Resource Groups with our internal communication and corporate culture

My Pitch:

We’ll create brand graphics that visualize the mission of each ERG, then build easy-to-use templates for awareness, recruitment, and internal communication.

The concept:

I needed to create a family of graphics that could be used across digital and print materials, plus make them easy for non-designers to use. It was important that they:

Looked good together when used as a group

Were on brand with Orsted’s corporate brand

Felt culturally on brand to the ERG members

I led project management on this as well.

I collaborated with a copy writer, junior designer, internal comms, HR, and the employee resource groups. I built a schedule to coordinate the large group with production timing and check in meetings with leadership.

The design process:

01
I held a workshop with each Employee Resource group to understand their values and mission.

02
I found inspiration based on their workshop feedback and my concept.

03
I presented design options that included quick mock ups of the types of deliverables we planned.

04
I took their feedback and updated the designs.

05
I created a library of graphics with files for each icon and pattern graphic in CMYK and RGB to make them easy to use.

The final assets

This project was successful in integrating the business’ diversity initiatives with the brand by making the Employee Resource Groups a more prominent part of internal branding.
